Amazing agave forward bar. The staff is knowledgeable about mezcal pechuga and tequila, besides the fact the the food is beyond amazing. I can't recommend this place enough. Good atmosphere, clean, and good people. A must stop for the area

This was my first visit to Val’s and I was very impressed. The place is nicely done and attractively decorated. The outdoor seating is really nice, covered and with heating in the colder weather. The menu is varied with quite a few choices. The cocktail menu is also very nice. Our server was first class, very friendly and attentive. The food was also outstanding with large portions. I left full and very happy.

Update: 09/23/23 - Was in the area and sat at the bar. Great service throughout and the drinks were 👍🏾. Original Review - The best part of the place is the atmosphere and drinks. The food was good but nothing memorable. Service was on point at first, then fell off towards the end. Would go again if in the area but not a specific trip.

Great atmosphere, prices, delicious food and SUPERB staff! The bartender Mika even went out of his way to make my friend a “sprite” since she was pregnant and couldn’t partake in margaritas with us. Definitely recommend stopping by.

Such a cute place! We were going to eat at another restaurant near by, but they couldn’t accommodate. Walked to Vals and they were so quick! The food and drinks were amazing and the staff were so sweet! Definitely want to come back with some friends when I visit again.

Always kind and attentive staff at this tropical themed locale on Freret Street. Tacos are sold a la cart and service on hand pressed tortillas. I enjoyed the tasty brunch potatoes tossed in a chipotle aioli, fish taco and churros served with a warm chocolate dipping sauce along with a slightly tart limeade.

I have eaten here in person twice and it was ok but when you are doing HH I think a lot can be overlooked. I ordered birria via Uber and it was terrible. Literally half of what should have been meat was fat. BIG chucks of just FAT. Inedible. If I am allowed to upload a photo I will. Wow just wow! How are you a taco place and serve a tortilla stuffed with fat and just a side of meat?!?! Never ever going to eat here again.

The taco tortillas are handmade the interior the of the tacos was lackluster. I got the beef and the chicken tacos. The chips and salsa with guacamole is what it is. My michelada was the best . Automatic 20% gratuity kind of sucks. People say the Caesar salad is delicious. If I'm looking for tacos, I'm probably going someplace else.
